Cecily strong

  Cecily Legler Strong (born February 8th, 1984) is an American actor, comedian and producer. She is also a singer. Strong is known best for her part as a Saturday Night Live cast member from 2012 to 2022. She is also the longest-running woman on the show's early years. Strong was hired for SNL while doing improv at The Second City in Chicago which is where she relocated after she graduated from CalArts. She is currently the host of the Apple TV+ musical comedy program Schmigadoon! (2021-present) and is also co-producing.



 



 Other tasks include voice overs for The Awesomes (2013-2015), as well as supporting roles in films such as Ghostbusters, The Meddler, and The Female Brain. In 2015 she hosted the White House Correspondents' Dinner. Her first book, a memoir This Will All Be Over Soon, was published in 2021.



 



 She was nominated in the Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Supporting Actress in Comedy Series and Saturday Night Live.



 



 Early life



 Strong was born and raised in Springfield, Illinois. She is the daughter of Penelope and William "Bill" Strong, who was an Associated Press bureau chief and at the time of his death, he was running his own public relations firm. Penny Legler Strong has extensive experience as a nurse practitioner as well as working at several local hospitals. Strong's parents were divorced. Strong was a fan of SNL when she was a kid and reenacting sketches with a partner and watching older SNL commercials on VHS. "I had an old tape with the best commercials and I would wear it all day long." She has said that she was inspired by Phil Hartman.
